Our province was the only region in the southern part of the continent that managed, immersed in a pandemic that put the whole world on tenterhooks, to make, compete and finish a calendar with cycling races. The participating categories were Master A men, Elite, Under 23 and Juniors and Elite women. This hard work began in November 2020. At that time, the Sports Ministry together with the San Juan Cycling Federation (FCS) agreed on guidelines and before the COVID Committee of San Juan presented an extended protocol to start the championship. It was reviewed, approved and the battery of races started on November 8. On that occasion, the Circuito San Juan Villicum (CSJV) was the home for the cyclists. In this process it is worth mentioning the creation of sanitary bubbles to guarantee the health of the people necessarily summoned to each race; and, at the same time, the fact that the fervent San Juan public could not attend, but watched each race from their homes due to each one of the televisions via streaming.

Let us expand on each of the concepts. The first one refers to the fact that during the week, days before the race date, cyclists, technical staff, organization and press media were tested. Whoever obtained a negative result could perform his task, either in El Zonda or the CSJV. This was done in the Aldo Cantoni stadium in most of the times, the FCS headquarters or in designated sectors in each sports venue. On the other hand, the second issue has to do with the idea of staying at home and enjoying from there what happened in each race. Each of the twelve dates was broadcasted by the official Youtube channel of the provincial government and local signals replicated it throughout the province.
